We are looking for a suitable candidate for the position of Purchasing Officer
Purchasing Officer will be responsible for :
Implementing sound purchasing policies, systems, and procedures in accordance with the Company standards.
Monitor vendors quality, service, and price through standard purchasing specifications
A minimum of three independent genuine quotations must be obtained
Obtain competitive quotations for the Lodge requirements and ensure that the best product is sourced and purchased.
Establish contracts to ensure reduced pricing for all operating areas of the Lodge.
Receives the market list from the Head Chef on a daily basis and arranges for delivery of those items daily.
Ensures and verifies that quotations are regularly updated and suppliers’ new current lists are maintained.
Obtains written approval for established Minimum / Maximum stock levels by the Financial controller and the General Manager.
Issue regularly the slow-moving items lists.
Spot checks storeroom requests if properly maintained, verifies quantity requested and issued, proper items received and signatories.
Works with the accounts department to follow up on invoices.
Academic and Professional Requirements :
Full Grade 12 certificate.
Diploma in Purchasing and Supply Management
Proficiency in MS Excel, MS word and other MS packages
Familiar with Materials Management System (MMS)
Familiar with Inventory Management Software
Work Experience in the Hotel environment is an added advantage
Holder of a valid driving license
