Position : Prevention & Behaviour Change -Intern

Position Type : Temporal

Duration : 12 Months

Location : Main Lusaka Office

Reports to : Senior Advisor Prevention & Behaviour Change

Position Summary

The Intern will support implementation of programs for USAID DISCOVER-Health in the area of Prevention and Behavioural Interventions to strengthen young people’s engagement in the Zambia Ending AIDS Campaign

Responsibilities

The specific duties and responsibilities of intern will include :

  • Support towards activations; take control city tour’ and other demand generation interventions, including documentation
  • Support social media and digital skill aspects of the Zambia ending AIDS campaign
  • Support innovative ways of engaging with young people before, during and after activations, including through blogs and Vlogs
  • Help to run the in-person meetings on campus linking them to online meetings and services delivery as relevant
  • Other duties as assigned by their supervisor
  • Social media Specific roles & responsibilities

  • Sharing ZEA messaging on social channels
  • Create / Pitch ideas and writing engaging stories
  • Meeting with other young people to talk about ZEA and compile their experiences, thoughts to inform the campaign

  • To actively communicate with ZEA communications team to ensure key messaging is up to date and on point; and provide feedback on challenges or best practices in engaging youth
  • Manning the social channels and hosting social chats to engage with other young people as necessary
  • Sharing ZEA messaging on social channels
  • Requirements and Qualifications

  • A minimum of Bachelor’s Degree in, Business Administrations, Communications, Design, Public Relations and Events Management
  • Ability to manage processes, interpret / analyze a wide range of information from partners, and provide relevant communication solutions.
  • Experience with digital / social media and radio content management
  • Experience with event management
  • Experience of working with young people
  • Knowledge of HIV / AIDS issues and Zambia Ending AIDS Campaign desirable
  • Ability to work under pressure as part of a team
  • Good writing skills, and excellent verbal communication,
  • Highly skilled in maintaining liaison with partners
