Lumwana Mining CompanyLimited (LMC), a copper mining company owned by Barrick is situated in theNorth Western region of Zambia, some 300 km west of the Zambian Copperbelt and95 km south west of the provincial capital of Solwezi.
The mine is a multi-pit,multi staged operation mining approximately 100MT of ore and waste per annumand producing copper concentrates containing an average of 120,000 tonnes ofcopper metal per year over a twenty (20) year mine life, making Lumwana thelargest single open cut copper mine in Africa.
The Company is now looking for anexperienced and qualified individual to be considered for the position of Ancillary Shift Supervisor
Reporting to the AncillaryShift Supervisor you will be responsible formaintenance of Mobile Equipment and ensuring Barrick Standards, Policies &Procedures are in place, met and consistently complied with.
Furthermore, thisrole ensures all equipment targets and work management KPI’s are achievedwhilst also meeting the maintenance budget, with safety above all else.
Your duties will include but not limited to thefollowing :
Install, maintain, diagnosefaults and repair electrical wiring
Diagnose, service and repairfaults on electronically controlled vehicle systems such as engine managementsystems, hydraulic control systems, transmission control systems and machinemonitoring systems
Be able to read and understandwiring diagrams produced by various OEM s
Be able to read and understandworkshop manuals and be able to follow the diagnostic procedures required forspecific faults
Be able to use diagnostictools including the use of a multi meter, a laptop computer and pressure gauges
Repair systems to OEM sspecifications
Must have the ability tounderstand technical instructions
Test, replace, and installequipment such as generators, alternators, starter motors and batteries
Replace electrical componentson vehicles
Clean and test components
Ensure hazardous substancesare disposed of appropriately and Health Safety and Environment (HSE)requirements are met
Maintain a professional workethic through effective, honest communication with supervisors, peers, andoperations personnel at all times.
The position will be expectedto positively impact and contribute to the performance of the company throughleadership and individual activity.
Plan, schedule and monitorwork of support personnel to assist immediate supervisor.
Must have experience in repairing vehicle airconditioning systems
Must have experience of working on large plantand machinery
Able to pass pre-employment medical.
Ability to communicate effectively
Ability to read and interpret Microsoft projectsoftware ZambianNationals who meet requirements for this position and are resident in Zambiaare strongly encouraged to apply
