CHAI has partnered with the Boston University (BU) through the Department of Global Health (DGH) in the School of Public Health (BUSPH) to conduct a series of studies under a Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation (BMGF) grant entitled Models for Accelerating Treatment Initiation (MATI) .

This scope of work is for CHAI to implement the third and final MATI study, known as SPRINT (Survey of Procedures and Resources for Initiating Treatment of HIV in Africa).

This is a 5 month scope of work that is intended to cover the full duration of the study. The primary purpose of this subaward is to collect the data required for SPRINT and participate in data analysis and report writing.

CHAI requires a dynamic, results-oriented individual with strong data collection and analytical experience and a strong record of participating in health studies to take up the role of Program Officer for the SPRINT project and to act as Project Assistant for SPRINT in Zambia.

S / he will work under the supervision of the Program Associate (AMBIT / SPRINT).

Position Duration : 5 months until July 2020

Responsibilities

Collect all required data from study sites, including :

  • Participating in analysis and reporting, including : clean and manage data obtained for the study and respond to data set queries
  • Communicating with the study team by attending a bi-weekly conference call (Skype or Zoom) to discuss activities, progress, and challenges.
  • Submiting quarterly technical reports summarizing the activities conducted under this award; in particular achievements and challenges.
  • Presenting and representing SPRINT to stakeholders including the Ministry of Health, health facility managers, funders, and implementing partners.
  • Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in social sciences
  • Ability to work effectively in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Experience implementing research or evaluation projects under direction
  • Experience extracting data from electronic health data systems
  • Experience in data analysis and at least one statistical analysis package (SPSS, STATA)
  • Experience training and managing data collection teams
  • Good writing and communication skills
  • Self-motivated, able to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary, multi-country team
