The Manager-Recoveries & Collections is middle management position, responsible for collecting outstanding loan repayments to help FINCA Zambia minimize Portfolio at Risk to within risk appetite.

He / she will be expected to pursue repayments for written off loans and contribute to FINCA Zambia’s profitability.

Duties and responsibilities includes :

  • Collect outstanding loan repayments from clients and achieve collection target to ensure quality loan portfolio. Close a specific number of collection accounts each month to meet assigned target.
  • Supervise Debt Recovery Officers.
  • Prepare Board report and act as proxy for the Head Collections and Recoveries.
  • Coordination and Monitoring of External Debt Recovery Agents.
  • Develop reports on aged delinquent accounts, monitor slow moving accounts and take necessary action to recover the arrears.
  • Contact delinquent clients and implement repayment schedules and terms.

    Competencies

  • Strong analytical skills and Investigative skills to ensure all loan repayments due to FINCA Zambia are received correctly and timely.
  • Refer delinquent accounts to the Legal Department where necessary and assist to take legal action against such delinquent clients by providing necessary information and follow up for closure.
  • Key Deliverables

  • Reduced Loan write offs
  • Ensure impairment is within the risk set target
  • Reduced ratios of portfolio at risk
  • Weekly and monthly reporting of all recoveries.
  • Qualifications

  • A Degree or Diploma in Business Studies-Accounting,Banking,or Relevant
  • Qualification

  • 3 years relevant work experience with either a Micro-finance institution or Commercial Bank.
